Skempto,

Go to www.funeralnet.com and look up the funeral homes for Monett and Pierce
City, MO. Contact the funeral homes in those towns asking if they handled
the arrangements for your grandparents. You will have to give your
grandmother's name to Monett and grandfather's name to Pierce City. When you
find the funeral home that DID handle the arrangements, ask them to send you
a copy of the record of funeral. Since the one is from 1962, if the
informant knew, you will probably find her parent's names, when/where she
was born, when/where she and your grandfather married, and possibly the
space and plot of buriel. The funeral records are a VERY good source of
information for us who do genealogy research. Usually, the funeral record is
MUCH BETTER than an obituary, since most papers allow just so much space,
and they won't print all of the information contained in the funeral record.
IF you are lucky, you might even find names of children and either addresses
or telephone numbers on the funeral record.

Good luck!

ciao,

Ron

Orleana West and Steven Elbert "Elzy" Davis. All my family members are
deceased and I have no one to ask about my family. Several members of my
family were born in Jolly, and are buried in Jolly Bethel cemetery. Grandpa
Elzy was a stock buyer and GrandmaDavis lived in Monett for years until her
death in 1962. She also was supposed to be a cook in Noel , missouri.

of her obituary? . Elzy died in Pierce City in the TB sanitarium.
Anything would be greatly appreciated. shelda
