Margaret,

In the 1860 census for McDonald County, Mary Moore was born about 1812 in TN. Her son, Charles N. Moore was also born in TN about 1838.

There is a marriage record in Shelby County, TN, between a Charles Moore and Mary Bowles. However, their marriage date is 20 Dec 1827. There were many young brides in those days, so this could be a possibility.
