concrete pad now, but after reading the link someone else sent, I'm sure it
was part of Rockedyne. Yes, that's how it was spelled. You might find some
information within the NARA archives about what Rockedyne did. To my
knowledge, they tested a wide variety of jet engines. They were still
active in the 80's, changed the name since then.

Camp Crowder in it's activity day, was many 1000's of acres. If I remember
correctly, it extended quite a ways into McDonald County as well. It has a
very colorful history and is still used as a National Guard facility.

I don't know who has control over that specific area these days, but I'm
pretty sure it's still fenced off.
