Subject: death record Tredegar/Bedwellty

I am trying to find a death record for Thomas Jenkins.

He is listed in the Bedwellty census as being in the mines and then on the 61 being a butcher. I know he died sometime between the 61 and the 71 census. From family journals I know they lived in the High Street area of Tedegar. I can't seem to find anything on his death. I did find one Thomas Jenkins on FreeBMD that is listed in the district of Monmouth. I am not sure if this is the right distict.

So my questions are:

What distict would I look for a 1861-1871 death for someone living in Tredegar/Bedwellty area?

Are there newspaper articles for death for the same?

Were there mortuary type records then too?

Were would I start to look for a grave?

Or any other advice you can give.

Thanks

Jill
