Hello Everyone ,

I am from Australia and am trying to trace back the family history . I
have traced my Great Grand Father back to Newport .

Does anyone know about a gas company that operated in Newport back in
the early 1900's ?
This was listed as G.Grand Father's occupation on his son Charles birth
certificate in 1912

Tracked them down living at .. .. .. .. 24 Portland Street , Newport

Grand Father : Charles Frederick Bohne , born 29/09/1912 , Newport ,
raised by mother's sister Gertrude after mother died

G.Grand Father : Karl Bohne , from Germany but returned prior to W.W.1

G.Grand Mother : Margaret O Rouke , died in 1914

Any help would be greatly appreciated , as it's hard to fill in the
specific little blanks from here .
