Most of the railways records that exists are held at Kew. As far as I know
they are not indexed, and even for an indivdual company you would probably
need to know which department he worked in, e.g. Carriages, Office,
Signalman.
It also depends upon which company, I think there are a number of GWR
records, but less for others
Visit the Kew site, they may have more information about it. If not I have
a bok published by the Federation of Family History Socities called 'Was you
Grandfather a Railwayman' ISBN 1 86006 1613. It has about every Company
and where it is in Kew.

Wales
that David requires further information for is the Country of Wales in the
United Kingdom
