Hi listers,
Can anyone advise me if there are records in existence for the above Institution please?
My interest is in this record from the 1901 census:
1901 census
Monmouthshire Lunatic Asylum, Abergavenny:
Elizabeth Cooksey, patient, married, aged 37, a labourers wife, born Blaenavon
The intriguing thing about this is that her husband, George Cooksey b1842 originally of Frampton cotterell in gloucestershire is shown on the 1901 census living with his son George Cooksey (head), daughter-in-law Annie, granddaughter Edith, along with his own son, Tom who is shown as brother to the head of house. The confusion sets in where George (b1842) is shown as widower, and not married??? Until yesterday, I thought that Elizabeth Cooksey had died between the birth of Tom in 1893 and the 1901 census. this is evidently not the case.
Any help or suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.
Kind regards to all,
Jon
