Hello Barbara,
According to his marriage certificate,his father
was William Davies,seaman, deceased. And that is it, I'm afraid.
On the 1891 census ,the Ernest I found there was
living with his mother ,Sarah,widow at Chapel Rd. Pontnewynydd.
While there is no proven connection,the fact that she was widowed is
intriguing. I have traced one William Henry Davies and Sarah Elizabeth
Richards through from their marriage in 1880 to 1891, when he was a manager
at a tin works.
