Hi Lorraine,

I don't know much about that part of my grandfather's life, only that he
didn't like working for the butcher in Newport and as soon as he could he
made his way to Bristol and became a coal miner in St. George. That's how
he met my grandmother who lived in St. George at that time.

My grandfather was a butcher in Newport. I don't know much about it either,
but it would have been after WW1 and until my grandparents left Newport when
the bombing of the docks during WW2 made Newport too uncomfortable for them.
They moved to Blaina.

My grandfather's name was Arthur Christopher.
