Hi Bill
Yes I have heard of search engines funnily enough.......

I already searched for the term. I doubt the fact that he had a limp would
be his occupation and I was not looking in the middle ages! As for someone
looking after a horse for the military service I doubt it my ancestor would
be doing that at the docks in Pill!!!

Can anyone give me a more realistic definition please?

Regards
David

Hi David

Have you never heard of search engines ?

If you pu Hobbler in a search engine like uk.ask.com

you get a few sites with definitions etc ...

Hobbler
n. 1. One who hobbles.
1. (Eng. Hist.) One who by his tenure was to maintain a horse for
military service; a kind of light horseman in the Middle Ages who was
mounted on a hobby.

regards

Bill
