Recently I was grateful for assistance re missing images on ancestry.com for
Mynyddyslwyn. Seems ancestry.com has three distircts missing for this
Parish.
Again I can not locate a family that is at the same address in both the 1861
and 1881 census and I am assuming that is one of the districts that has not
been transcribed by ancestry for some reason.
In 1861 the family were at RG9/4027 Folio 21 Pg 35. Civil Parish
Mynyddyslwyn, Household at Cwm Fynnonan.
WILLIAMS
William 52 born Mynyddyslwyn Monmouothshire
Jane 52 born Llansilogogo Cardiganshire
Thomas 20 born Nantyglo Monmouthshire
James 18 born Nantyglo Monmouthshire
Hezekiah 15 born Nantyglo Monmouthshire
Elizabeth 12 born Nantyglo Monmouthshire
Mary 6 born born Mynyddyslwyn Monmouthshire
Seems there was a visitor Morgan Thomas with the family also.
In 1881 the family were at RG11/5273 Folio 8 Pg 9. Civil Parish
Mynyddyslwyn, Household Cwmfonona
WILLIAMS
Jane 64, widow, born Cardiganshire
Hezekiah 33, born Brynmawr Brecon
Elizabeth 29, born Brynmawr Brecon
- and there are two young grandson who would not be recorded on the 1871
census. As you will see Jane is a widow in 1881 and I don't know if William
was still there in 1871 or had deceased by then. Also there is a diiference
is the birthplaces recorded for Hezekiah and Elizabeth.
Would someone who has the 1871 Monmouthshire census on CD please be able to
check for this family.
I am interested also if anyone has connections to this family - in
particular to 6 year old Mary in the 1861 census. Did Mary marry David
Hopkins, son of William Hopkins and Eleanor Jones nee Williams?
Many thanks for any assistance.
