Hi, John. Thank you so much for the map references! They were spot on. I
can now see clearly how my GGrandparents in Blaina must have walked to work
in iron and coal industrial facilities there, and up the valley to the CofE in
Nantyglo where they married in 1862. Pre-1861 sightings of them had been
over the mountain in Trevethin, so finding their marriage in Nantyglo came as a
surprise puzzle which was solved by finding that they were employed in Blaina
in 1861. Of course we still do not know what moved them to migrate from
Trevethin to Blaina, but it is an easy surmise that they did so for reasons
related to employment.
