It might be worth seeing if there is a death of a Mary Jones after the birth
of Caroline and also do a search to see if Thomas marries again to
Elizabeth before the 1851 census date. Just to make sure that either of
these events didn't happen before you decide that Elizabeth was really Mary
Elizabeth. You could also search for the marraige because all the names
should be there.
