Subject: Looking for VAUGHAN
Hello Listers,
I wonder if anyone can give me advice on how to find out what happened to my Gt. Grandmother.
Margaret VAUGHAN (PHILLIPS) was widowed at the age of 29 in 1894 when David VAUGHAN died of TB.
She was left with four children to bring up alone.
James, b. 1885 Tredegar
Catherine b. 1888 Tredegar (my grandmother)
Daniel b. 1890 Tredegar
John b. 1892. Tredegar
I have them on 1901 Census living at Feeder Houses, Dukestown.
I have downloaded a map of the area and have found Feeder Banks but don't know if the houses still exist.
Is it possible it was some kind of workhouse a I imagine the family must have been destitute with the children being so young.
I would be pleased to hear from anyone else researching VAUGHAN, PHILLIPS,DAVIES,and possibly PERKINS.
I am new to the list and hoping for the usual generous help.
Thank you Val in Leicestershire.
