Hello Peter,
Many thanks for your reply. Mary Ann Williams married Thomas Phillips at St
Woolas, Newport, Monmouthshire on 5th May, 1827. The date of her birth is
approximate only, going on census records, which are not always accurate.
Thomas and Mary Ann Phillips'children were William, abt 1830, Thomas, abt
1832, Mary Ann, 1837, Sarah, 1841, most likely all born in Newport.
Thomas (snr) died before 1851, as Mary Ann was a widow in the 1851 census,
living with two of her children - Thomas & Sarah - in Ebenezer Tce, St
Woolas. (What is the correct spelling of St Woolas?)
Thank you too, for the links. I will check them out. I do not think the
family would have been Catholic.
Your help is much appreciated!
Cheers,
Ally
