Dear Mary
If I'd thought about it a little longer I would have realised that the
'Inmate in Builth' couldn't possibly have been Mary's father - according to
your information that man was born three years after his daughter!
There are several Mary Edwards born in 1826 +/- 1 and living in Bedwellty
area and none living in the Aberystruth sub-district.
One lived in Charlestown, Blackwood and another in Uchlawrcoed
Another had a father who was a cordwainer
Three had fathers who were colliers or miners
Another was the daughter of a police superintendent!
None of them had fathers with first names anything like Powell!
The Parish Church of Aberystruth is St. Peter's, Blaina.
Robert

Hallo again - you brightened up our day!! - we have been trying to solve
this for weeks - but still no where near a result. The marriage
certificate of Mary definitely says that her name is MARY EDWARDS - I can
understand they could have made a mistake with his name but we feel he
should be a Edwards whatever his christian name may be!!! - do you agree?
she married in the Parish Church of Aberystruth - where is this? (1844) Is
it St. Peters Blaina or the church in Llanelly Breconshire Thanks Mary
