Dear Ann
I understand the reason why Rootsweb took this course of action, as outlined
in your own email. It would, however, be even more helpful if the sender of
any email written in HTML were to receive an auto-reply telling them that
their posting had not been delivered, and why, so that they could take
corrective action by resending in plain text, and then list members like Ray
wouldn't be so perplexed.
Perhaps you could feed this idea 'back up the line'?
Robert

Empty messages sometimes happen when the message is sent using HTML - If you
are using Outlook or Outlook express then click on Format on the menu bar
and then click on plain text before writing your message. This should ensure
that it arrives with us as it left you.
Rootsweb long ago realised that viruses can't live in plain text they need
the coding of HTML so they set up their mail servers to work with plain
text.
I don't really understand it I am just quoting the stuff I was told eleven
years ago when I first became a list admin.
