Hugh Watkins kindly looked up some Prowses and put them on the list.

The quest is for William Prowse bc 1857 Devon lka 1871 Bristol, eldest son
of William (bc 1831 Christow Devon) and Emma (ne Gibson/Gipson b 1838
Doddiscombsleigh , Devon ) PROWSE . Hugh spotted his younger brother Samuel
married to young widow Sarah Paige in Rotherfield Sussex.

The William Prowse mason from Ugborough Devon is not mine but i have met
some of his descendants and gave them a remarkable personal testimony
written by their relative who went to the USA c 1908. I had this because we
wasted 2 years on him before we found 'our' William Prowse in Christow,
Devon. Christow is not on the IGI whereas Ugborough is.

The London based William Prowse might be one of ours but via an earlier
generation. Still working on that.

My main reason for this current posting is to say that almost all the
Prowses connected to Newport, Mon in the last 130 years are 'ours' and
anyone on the list with connections to the Newport Prowses is welcome to get
in touch.
