Subject: [MON] Arthur James HAYES died 1890 Tredegar
Date: Sat, 14 Jun 2008 16:55:56 +0100

Hi everyone,

I am trying to find out where my gggrandfather was in 1881

In 1871 he was in the Forest of Dean with his family. He is a census
enumerator. In 1881 the family minus Arthur James was still there and my
gggrandmother is listed as a widow. However... Arthur James actually
died in 1890 in Charles Street, Tredegar, with his eldest son (my
ggrandfather Frederick James) in attendance! By 1891, the HAYES family
was in 199, Trecelyn, Claurplwyf. By 1901 they were all in Llanhilleth.

The mystery is where did Arthur James go between 1871 and 1890, since he
doesn't seem to be findable (at least not thus far) on the 1881 census.
Mind you, the family specialises in being left off indexes and having
their names mangled. He has to be out there somewhere.

All suggestions gratefully received!

Regards,
Sian.
