Hi,

I have been doing some research on my maternal great-great-grandfather, Charles BARKER. Tradition has it that he was a Prospector or Miner in the early 1860's in the Butte area. I know that he left either late in 1863 or early in 1864, as that is when he met and married my great-great-grandmother. Does anyone know of newspapers or tax records or any other records that might have information about some of the people "passing through" Butte at that time as prospectors or miners?
