Good day, folks,
The Great Falls Genealogy Society will host the year 2005 Montana State
Genealogical Conference.
Next Saturday, March 29, at the Columbus Center, a cadre of volunteers, with
Sandra Guynn at the helm, will begin planning for that conference. Sandra
has announced that invitations for bold and innovative ideas are to be
extended as far as we can reach in our family history communities, to GFGS
members and non-members alike and to present those suggestions and ideas at
the planning meeting which will begin at 1.00 PM (1300 hrs).
The entire effort must be planned out. Themes and programs need to be
prepared. Speakers, lodging facilities and conference rooms, must be
procured and so forth.
It should be noted that the Fort Benton to Great Falls area has been chosen
as one of 13 "Signature" areas to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the
Lewis & Clark Expedition during the month of June until July 4th . Having
made reference to the Lewis & Clark celebration please understand that our
motive is not to compete but to supplement. Whether we can join in that
celebration or not remains to be seen and one more of the reasons that we
hope to receive your input.
I have chosen this forum and it's collective genius to assist in that effort
with your input and ideas. If you will contact me via e-letter at
with your thoughtful contributions, I will present them
to the assembly. If you happen to be in the Great Falls area at that time
and wish to present your ideas in person, we would welcome you to the
meeting.
For those of you unfamiliar with the Columbus Center the street address is -
1601 2nd Ave. N.
