death certs. The service was extremely fast:

Our death certificates start in 1890 although they were not required until
1906.

Genealogy copies are $0.50 and can be obtained by a written request, noting
the reason for and providing a self-addressed stamped envelope for the
return document. Our address is Clerk & Recorder, Courthouse - Room 208,
Butte, MT 59701.
