My Flynn line arrived in MT from Michigan circa 1890. John bought up HUGE
parcels of land under the Homestead Act - so large that later on he used an
airplane to keep an eye on his cattle up near Harve/Chinook. He was in (or
nominated for) the "Cowboy Hall of Fame".
I would enjoy knowing what ranching was like at the turn of the century,
where the men drove the cattle and where the "overland" routes took these
pioneers.
Are there any old photos that could be put on display?
What groups of Native Americans populated the area.
Were there disputes in MT between the cattle ranchers and railroad men?
Something about the religious denominations that came would be interesting.
Hoping that the conference goes well!!
