I suppose 1895-1915. The various branches of my family in particular came
between 1899-1909. Some land patents we filed as late as 1916. They had to
live on and improve the land for a few years before filing.

I don't know how common this was, but several in my family, after securing
their land patents in MT, went down to WY for about five years around 1920
and secured more land patents down there, then returned to MT.
