Samuel POWELL, 1848-1914. Born in Butler Co. PA ­ married Mary Ellen CLARK
on 26 Oct 1871 in Spring Garden, IL. Moved to Sioux Falls, SD and then on
to Carter Co, MT about 1910.
Betsy Eldora POWELL 1892-1955. Born in Rowena, SD ­ married Edward
REICHELT -1885-1958 in 1906 in Humboldt, Minnehaha Co. SD. Homestead near
Ekalaka, Carter Co, MT from 1913 to 1925. They then moved to Sioux Falls,
SD
James Harry POWELL b1915 married Thea Marie NIES on 14 May 1938 in
Ekalaka, MT.
James Henry POWELL 1889-1925 married Effie OBERLIN on 20 Nov 1913 in
Ekalala, MT.

I am interested in all of the POWELL families from around Ekalala, Mt. I
would like information on emigration trains from South Dakota to Baker, Mt.;
homesteading around Ekalaka from 1913 to 1925; hardships, weather,
schooling, and any other information that would help to understand life at
that time. My father and siblings went to school in Dist. 15.
