We are searching for descendents of J.T. Stuart who died in Butte sometime
in the early 1900's. He was originally from Fannin Co. GA and the child of
John A. Stuart. He migrated to Butte, via Leadville Colorado, in 1878. He
was a farmer but also worked with the Ledfords in the mining industry. The
"J" is for John or, possibly, Joseph. They are related to the descendents
of Isaac Edwards of Polk Co., TN.....namely Burgess Alonzo Edwards.

Also looking for descendents of James Edward Ledford. Jim was born 1848 in
either Cherokee Co., NC or Fannin Co., GA. He worked in the copper mines of
Polk Co., TN from a very early age. He, too, migrated to Butte via
Leadville. His wife was Matilda Brown. They married in 1866. She had died
by 1890 since he remarried Belle Carey/Moore. His children were Myra
Ledford/ Hughes/ Broaddus who died in CA.; John E. who resided in Oklahoma
in 1928; Benjamin who m. Wilahminea [sic] Haven and resided in LA, CA in the
early 1900's; Maude Moore / Storms was his step-dtr. She m. James Storms
who died in Butte 1928. James Ledford died in Butte in 1928 as a result of
a shooting in his merchantile.

Looking for descendents of the brother of James E. Ledford. His name was
William Lafayette Ledford. WL was born 1846 same place as Jim. He m. Mary
Jane Galloway who died 1887 then m. Catherine Hodges. He moved back here to
Bradley Co., TN in 1895. His son John E. stayed there to move to Goldfield
NEV where he died. We think another son Thomas possibly stayed there. He
is the one we are looking for.
