Hello! Linda and B.J. Ayers,
May I jump into this John Montgomery list? My John M. died in 1785 in
Amherst county Virginia. I have a copy of his will and he had 9 childern one
who was a John Jr and Robert and Joe and others who were male and female. I
descend from Joe who came to Missouri in 1789 after John's death bringing 4
year old James with him to Wayne Co Missouri. There is also Samuel
Montgomery which pop up in Wayne Co Mo. At one time this was the State of
Wayne. No mention of bringing a wife with him. The question I have is where
does General Richard's brothers fit into the picture, that is Alexander and
John of that time? We have been unable to establish who my GF John's Father
was who passed away in 1785 in Amherst Co. Va,. Sorry to confuse the
situation even more. Regards-----James V. Montgomery Sr----Texas Co.
Missouri
