Any information on Samuel Montgomery, who may have been born between 1770
and 1780 in South Carolina ? Possibly had a brother named James because Samuel
and James (both between 50 - 59) were living close to each other in Hardeman
County, TN in 1830. A Samuel Montgomery died in Hardeman Co. in 1831. It
may have been this Samuel Montgomery.

One of these men probably had a daughter named Cynthia, born about 1810, TN,
who was my gt.gt.grandmother. Cynthia Montgomery married Joseph Stafford
and moved to McDonald Co., MO about 1840 when other Staffords moved to MO,
mostly Dallas, Webster, and Polk Counties. I suspect that it was James who was
her father, because she had a son named James, but no Samuel.

Any information on any of these people would be great. I have been looking
for over 10 years now. The number of Jameses and Samuels, who are brothers
is mind boggling.
