Sid and Karen,

Please excuse me for butting in but I have more information on the Chancery
Court Records in Smith-TN.

Harriet Feagan Moore Lancaster [c1810VA-] is not the same woman in both
marriages. She is the first one married 8 Jul 1852 Smith-TN.

The second one who married the James Allen may be Harriet Moore [1829>-] d/o
John Moore [1808TN-] & Elizabeth Unknown s/o
PATRICK MOORE SR [1768-1836] & ELIZABETH MULLENS [1767-1837]. My 3g gf.

There were at least two MOORE families and one MOORES family in Smith-TN at
that time. Marie Howery on this list maybe able to verify this second Harriet.

The Samuel LANCASTER is Rev SAMUEL THOMAS LANCASTER [1808KY-1862MS] and
Harriet Feagan Moore was his 3/w. He was her 2/h. He was a widower twice and
my 2g gf.

The children of Harriet Feagan Moore & Unk Moore [-<1850TN] were:
1..William Moore [1830TN-]
2..Drusiler Moore [1833TN-] female
3..Lucy Moore [1837TN-]

None of these children were named John Franklin Moore [1847-1917] and born
way too early.

In the 1860 Federal Census Smith-TN:
LANCASTER, Thomas 50 m w KY $2700-$1085
, Harriet 50 f w VA -$5600
(slaves)
, Harrison 17 m w TN
, Franklin 14 m w TN
, John 9 m w TN

Harrison age 17=Rev SAMUEL HARRISON LANCASTER [1843TN-1921TX] my g gf.
Franklin age 14=Benjamin Franklin LANCASTER [1845TN-1925TX] my g uncle.
John age 9=John F(rancis) LANCASTER [1850TN-<1874TN] my 1/2 g uncle who had
severe celebral palsy.

Family lore tells us that Harriet was a `witch' and thought only of HER
slaves.
In 1861 Rev SAMUEL THOMAS LANCASTER joined the CSA at age 52 as a Chaplain
and died in 1862 in Tupelo-Lee-MS of pneumonia.

Your John Franklin Moore [1847-1917] is NOT a member of this family.

jerree

Harrison Feagan [c1815VA-] was Harriet's brother and executor of their
father's (John Moore) will.
