Kathryn,

This sounds familiar but I have almost no information. My father's sister,
Dorothy E. Powell, married
Joseph Erwin Moore of Charlotte, NC, in the 1920s.

"...He was a graduate of Clemson College, a World War I
veteran, and the Chief Executive Officer for American Cynamid Corporation."
From: Obituary, Joseph Erwin Moore, Charlotte Observer, March 25, 1987."

He came from a large family and used to tell us that he had about 60 first
cousins. I remember
he had Uncles named Baxter and Wylie Moore. Does that sound familiar?
