Does anyone have information on the Moore families of southeast Missouri,
particularly the Carter, Shannon, Reynolds and Oregon counties area, around
the time of the Civil War? I am especially interested in any who may have
died or been killed during the war. Given names of most interest are John,
Si, Silas, Joe, Josephus, Joseph S. or some combination of those. Related
surnames may be McElmurry (Macelmurray, etc.), Haws or Haus, Taylor,
Tarlton, Smith, Thomasson, Cypret, Marler or Marlow.
