I believe that that your Samuel MOORE, b. 1849 in Nicholas Co., (W)VA was
the son of John Jackson MOORE, Jr., & Mary Jane MORTON. J. J. MOORE, Jr.,
married M. J. MORTON, 5 Apr 1838 in Nicholas Co., (W)VA.
They came from Albemarle Co., VA. And then were in Clay Co., (W)VA later on
when Clay Co., was formed.
John Jackson MOORE. Jr., was the son of John Jackson MOORE, Sr., was b. in
NJ. He married Nancy THACKER, (2nd wife and mother of J. J. MOORE, Jr.,) in
Albemarle Co., VA, 4 Mar 1811.
John J. MOORE, Sr., was the son of Benjamin MOORE, b. abt. 1760 at Long
Island, NY &. I have his wife as only named Martha.
Benjamin MOORE was the son of John Jackson MOORE, & Sarah PLATT both of NY.
J. J. MOORE was the son of J. J. MOORE & Mary (No Last Name) of NY.
J. J. MOORE was the son of Nathaniel MOORE & Sarah JACKSON that was prob.
was from MA, they ended up in Rock Point, Long Island, NY.
Nathaniel, b. abt. 1669, was the son of Thomas MOORE, b. 1639/1640 &
Elizabeth MOTT, married in Mamaroneck, NY, in 1662.
Thomas MOORE was the son of Thomas MOORE, b. 1585 in England, came to
America. He settled in MA and married Martha YOUNG.
Thomas MOORE was son of Thomas MOORE and Unknown wife in England.
Thomas MOORE was the son of John MOORE of England and Ann of England.
I hope I got this all right fro you in generations. There is a lot in info
about them on the web.
I hope this helps you out. This is like, my collateral line. I am not a
descendant of this MOORE line.
