Hi, Lanita. I'd really appreciate it if you would check on the James Harrel
Putman family in 1880, 1890, and 1900. As I have related in past messages,
my great-grandmother Elizabeth
South Guy married James H. Putman in Oregon County in 1870, and I have a
copy of the census records for that year, showing the household as being
James, wife Rebecca, and children John and James. (John is John Neuborn Guy
and James is James Hillary Guy, sons of her first marriage to Hillary Guy in
Tuscaloosa County, AL)
From oral history, we know that she and James Putman had three daughters,
but cannot find the family in any records other than their 1870 marriage
license, and the 1870 census. Where did they go? Maybe they were still in
Oregon County in 1880 and 1890. Sure hope you can help my Arnold branch in
locating them! Thanks!
Your Texas cousin, Gene
