You didn't say when Mary SHRUM died. If she died after about 1910/1912,
you should be able to obtain a death certificate from the MO Department
of Health, Division of Vital Statistics, in Jefferson City, MO, which
should give her maiden name--assuming that the informant had that
information. The last time, I requested a search for a death certificate
from the State of MO, the fee was $10, but I don't know what the current
fee is. You would need to check with them to learn what the current fee
is if you decide to ask for a search. Good luck in your search!!
