Hi Ken,

I haven't talked to you for a long time. Earlier this summer I sent in a
check for $150.00 for a lifetime membership to the Douglas County Society. I
got a receipt from Barbara Breshears. However, shouldn't I be getting the
latest Journal also? I thought the journals came with a membership? Can
you explain this to me?

I had two surgeries this spring and summer on my left shoulder for a torn
rotator cuff. However, neither surgery was successful, so I will just live
with it. It isn't something that will slow me down, just making it
difficult to lift objects above my head which isn't needed that often and I
just do it with my other arm.

You remember Karen that was with me last summer. This summer we were going
to tour Oklahoma where I have "tons" of relatives from both my mother and
father's side buried. That had to be put on hold because of my shoulder, so
we hope to do that next summer.
