I am seeking more information on a "Joe" Friend and his wife, "Dolly." I
put Joe and Dolly in quotes because, from family contacts, those are the
only names given for the parents of a son, Ellic. They may just be
nicknames. I would certainly like to obtain an obit and death record for
these if anyone can help in that regard.

Joe and Dolly have been reported to be the parents of son Ellic, bn 10 Feb
1897 in Sarcoxie, Jasper Co., Missouri. Ellic is reported to have married
Juanita (Scott?) in Newton Co. 4 Sep 1917. Their first son, Floyd Earl, was
born 24 Feb 1921 in Ottawa Co, OK. Ellic died Jun 1978 and Juanita Sep
1978, both in Sequoyah Co. OK.

I found the following post (slightly edited) on Rootsweb which started
raising questions - is he the Joe I am looking for?

Name: Joe R. FRIEND
Sex: M
Birth: WFT Est. 1841-1930
Death: ABT. 1932 in Theodosia, Ozark, Missouri
Facts about this person:
Burial - Hart Cemetery, Duggansville, Mo on Ida Hart Farm (correctly spelled
Dugginsville-dw)
Fact 6 - 51st Infantry

Does anyone know anything more about Joe R? I attempted to contact the
submitter at the web address provided, but the message bounced. Is there
anyone that could research this further, or know who I might be able to
contact for more information? I would certainly like an obit if one is
available

I found these three boys in Quapaw Twp, Ottawa, OK, in the 1920 census
(Ellic is listed as Ellis), but have not been able to find any the
family in earlier federal census' (specifically 1900 and 1910). I am
presuming they are brothers, but they may not be since the birth place of
the parents is different for each.
Joseph, 29, bn in MO, parents bn AR/MO; married to Pauline, 26, bn AR,
parents bn AR/AR; they have daughter Jesse Louisa, 3-3/12, bn MO, parents bn
MO/MO. (Pretty loose recording of birth places here, I think.)
Jesse, 28, bn MO of CO/IL-bn parents; married to Bessie E, 25, bn MO to
IN/AR-bn parents; they have children Edna M, f, 5; Louise M, f, 3-4/12;
Hazel E?, f, 1-9/12, all born in OK of MO/MO-bn parents. Living with them is
mother, ?Murena? or ?Helena? (very difficult to read), 56, bn IL.
Ellis, 23, bn MO of MO/MO-bn parents; married to Juanita, 19, bn MO of
MO/VA-bn parents; no children.

Would there be intervening MO or OK state census' that might have
information?
