Local, 19 Jan 1887
Truman HIGGS, residing about 3 or 4 miles north of here died last
Friday. His funeral was preached at the Christian Church by Elder
E.M. Smith after which his body was interred in the cemetery at this
place. Elias HANEY, who has been sick for some time, died at this
home north of this city on last friday.

Chariton, 12 Jan 1887
James STEVENS lost a small child one day last week. The child had
been sick for some time.

North Side, 19 Jan 1887
After a protracted illness old Mr. HANEY passed this life, on friady the
same day Mr. Truman HIGGS passed away.

Lemen, 26 Jan 1887
We are informed that Harman KEENE'S mother died near Bloomfield,
last week, she was said to be over 90 years of age.
