I have 2 Samuel HAYES men in my ancestry:

Samuel HAYES I b. March 1827 OH d. 1902 Putnam county, MO
m. Elizabeth TERRELL b 9/13/1830 OH d. 6/17/1865 Putnam county, MO
Parents: John TERRELL and Nancy

children of Samuel and Elizabeth:
Samuel II, b. 1852 (my G-Grandfather)
Catherine, b. 1857
John M, b. 1856
Nancy, b. 1857
David, b. 1859

Notice there is a gap between Samuel's and John's birth years, when there
could have been other children.

My G-Grandfather (Samuel II)
m. Sarah Elizabeth Forbes, b. 1857

children of Samuel II and Sarah Elizabeth:
Ollie Belle (my Grandmother)
William Benjamin, b 7/3/1874
John
Mary
Charlie
Vada
Ella
Alva

I added G-Uncle Ben's birthdate, since he is the only "William" HAYES in my
line. I remember him. The HAYES, FORBES and TERRELL families lived around
Livonia, MO.

Do any of these people sound familiar to you?

I have a cousin on the HAYES side, who had done research on the HAYES
family. I will forward your message to her and see if any of it strikes a
chord with what she knows.
