Hi Researchers...
I have just found out more info on my Great Great Grandparents, Michael MORAN & Julia HURLEY thru the Emigrant Savings Bank Records.
Here is what I now know:
Michael MORAN born abt 1810,
Native of Carrick ___?___, Co West Meath, Ireland
s/o Michael MORAN, deceased, & Bridget CONROY
Came to US May 6, 1832 from Liverpool
Occ: Founder, Moulder
Lived Washington St, c/o Hammesly, NYC in 1852
Kids:
Frank, b 1840, NYC, no other info
John, b 1842, NYC, no other info
Mary Elizabeth, b abt 1845, either Covington, Miami, OHIO or Covington, Kenton, KY, married Abner ROOME, NYC 1867
Josephine, b abt 1848, Cinn, OH, married 2X: #1, Tremain Van Valkenburg, 1872, Jersey City, NJ...#2: Joseph MILLS, 1878, Jersey City, NJ
Siblings of Michael MORAN:
Patrick, of Troy, NY
Bridget of NY
Ann of NY
I am assuming Bridget & Ann lived in NYC, but may be wrong.
The Emigrant Saving Bank acct was opened in Nov 1852.
So they were in NYC from 1832 to at least 1842
Then in Cinn, OH area 1845- 1848 ish.
Back in NYCsometime in the 1850's-
NYC 1860's & 1870's.
Michael died between 1870 & 1880, as wife, Julia is living with daughter Josephine MILLS & family as a widow in 1880.
Julia died & was buried in Jersey City 1896. Her daughter, Mary ROOME was buried with her in 1904.
I don't know where Michael died or is buried
From IGI, Mary E MORAN was born in Covington, Miami,County, OH. I haven't been able to find the family there. However, Covington, KY is right across the river from Cinn, so it may be KY, but haven't found anything there.
