you need to work backwards from yourself to your parents & grandparents etc. birth & death certificates, eventually you'll find a death certificate that has an overseas birthplace & probably "how many years in the colonies" from which you can look up their arrival details.
Moran is probably from Ireland if you're looking at that side. My mother was also a Moran.
