Joseph William Boner married Margaret ELROD, d/o Christopher Elrod
and Aaltje SOELLE. I have some Elrod family notes that give Joseph
Boner's birthplace as "Lower Lusatia, Germany", but with no
documentation, and with no ancestors further back.
My recommendation would be to see if you can get a copy of his
Moravian Lebenslauf, or funeral memoir. The Archives in Salem are
currently closed, while they are moving into their new building, but
they will be open again in the fall. At that point, check to see if
there is a memoir, and if so, if it's been translated into English
already.
Usually the memoir will give birthplace and parents of the deceased,
and a brief history of his early life.
