Hi Listers,

Hi Listers,

I've just joined this list and would like to tell you my interest in
Moravian history.

I'm descended from WAYMOUTHs from Exeter in Devon who were very active
Baptists during the 18th and 19th centuries (possibly earlier, but I
don't have records yet).

Bryant WAYMOUTH (1842-1888), my gggrandfather, was born in London and
according to a document written by his son in 1918 was "educated by the
Moravians in Wurttemburg". Does anyone know of a connection between
Moravians and Baptists, or where in Wurttemburg he might have gone.
Have you heard of young Englishmen (or boys?) being sent to Germany like
this?

I know virtually nothing about this denomination, so any advice on good
sources whould be very welcome.

Regards,

Robyn

If anyone else has Exeter Baptist connections, or knows where there are
good references/sources etc I'd love to talk to you.
