Joy,
Thanks anyway - Sue's post helped sort some, and I posted back asking for help
in sorting the Joshuas out some more. I don't know anymore about Margaret
Clark's husband James Craven than you do - maybe Sue does.... (Margaret sure
went through the husbands, didn't she?!) (Well, so did Ephraim and Lilburn
Harris)...
For a start we could look for a James Craven around her age or older who was
marriageable ca 1861 and who died in time for her to marry Lilburn in late
1880.
As for the Harrises - I know nothing of James' parents or siblings. Of his and
Jane Craven's children, I know of 6:
1) Lilburn - 3 wives, 10 or 11 children (have conflicting data there)
2) Charlotte - 1 child by Ephraim. No death date for her, and suppose she's
buried at Rowland, but no marker known. (nor one for Salina)
3) Julia - 10 children by Ephraim.
4) Wiley - m. Mary Craven
5) Eliza - m. Simon McKissack first, had 2 or 3 children (haven't got that
straight yet) then after he was killed in the Civil War m. Jacob Woods and had
9 more children. Stones for Simon and Jake at O'Dell cem. - Jake's is a
double, but second half blank. No engraved stone found with Eliza's name on it
- am hoping one of these days a Woods descendant can tell me if she's buried
next to Jacob.
(have collected quite a bit of info on Woods, as several are buried at O'Dell)
6) Nancy m. Will Norris - 8 children.
Have some dates, etc. on some of the above as well....
Cheryl
