Very interesting connection on the names - I've seen the
Sichy/Sychy/Sychie/Sycha names and wondered what the name was or where it came
from. Of course "Psyche" never occurred to me... I find the whole name thing
very interesting - how the names keep popping up and how they get changed.
William Riley O'Dell, b. 1805, was one of the early O'Dells - I see the
Riley/Rial name with more O'Dells, and with
Clark/Brown/Riggs/Tarwater/Rowland/Woods....it sure became popular. Rensalear
Clark is another one - changed to Ransley, Ransler, etc. and crops up a number
of times in later generations. Don't know where he got it, but there's a
Renssalaer Blvd. in Jacksonville, FL that's so close I wonder if the name's the
same and it was someone famous. Of course there's the dozen or more George
Washington Somebodies, Andrew Jackson Somebodies, James Buchanan Somebodies, and
Sterling Price Somebodies. Don't know of any Abraham Lincoln
Anybody nor Alexander Doniphan Anybody...
