Hello, Carroll, I am not sure about the date of birth. He is either a half
brother of step brother of my GGrandfather's. I am not sure if he is from
Hannah's first marriage or second marriage. Hannah was listed in Mercer Co
in 1850 with her parents. She would have been 9 then. By 1860, Her mother
had just died in 1859 and her father was found as a laborer in another home.
the children were scattered. Hannah was not found in a Mercer County census
in 1860. The next thing that I know for sure about is the birth of my
GGrandfather in 1872. By this time she would have been about 30. The
family says that she married Mr. GANT after my GGGrandfather's death in
1887. Which means if Crawford Gant was her son born into a second marriage
he would have been born close to 1890. She moved to ARKANSAS in 1912 and
died in 1917. I would think that if he had been born in 1900 or so, he
would have been in AR too. I am just a little more inclined to believe
that Mr. Gant was her first husband, born between 1860-1870. But that is
just speculation on my part. If I could find something about him, it would
make a lot of difference in my research. Interesting stuff. Any
suggestions? I am new to this and am open to any suggestions you might
have. Thank you! Wanda
