The Ray Co birth & death records which are being transcribed & will be posted (see links at home page) show the birth of a female child, # 6 to a B. Cates of TN m. ? Sanderson of MO on Mar 24, 1884 in Knoxville township & the
first child, female, to Quintus Cates of MO & Amanda C. Cates of TN on Feb 7, 1885 in Richmond Township. I viewed these at the courthouse.

These records were maintained for a very brief period but since we have no 1890 Census records, they may lend clues to some of us. I found one individual in my research whose death was reported.
