-------------------------
Does anyone have knowledge of Samuel Gragg who built &/or operated ferries
across the MO river? I found mention of a ferry operated by him at Overton?
That mention was in a chapter about Clay & Platte county influence on the
history of KS. Was Overton in MO or KS? I found a Samuel Gragg in Greene
County TN, in or near Limestone County AL. He brought suit against Joseph
H. Ball for payment of a note & the appeal was tried in Ray County Circuit
Court in 1828. Can anyone shed light on this subject? Jurors were Theodrick
Maybery, Mathew P. Long, Joseph Cox, Stephen Jacobs, James Jorden, Robert
Park (name scratched out), Mathew Cunningham, Samuel McGee, Daniel Devaul,
William Lakey, William Morgin, Robert Mitchel, and (name added) Lewis Linvil.
Summons signed by R. Prichard, Dpt Sheriff, Larkin Stanley Sheriff, John
Ensley, Joel Jacobs.
