Like you I suspect that your Margaret Baikie and my wife's Margaret Baikie are related. Just how I don't know.
James Baikie, bapt. 12 Nov. 1746, Drainie, m. on 30 June 1785 Christian Crocket. 4 children were listed in the Drainie parish register:
1. James b. 22 May 1786. I believe he m. Janet Young in 1811.
2. Margaret, b. 24 Apr. 1788. On 9 Feb. 1815 she m. John Stewart, fisherman in Lossiemouth. She d. 9 July 1870. He was b. 10 Oct. 1795, d. 8 Sept. 1863. This couple are my wife's 3x great grandparents.
3. John, b. 22 Dec. 1790.
4. Jean, b. 14 Dec. 1792.
The James Baikie, bapt. 1746, was the s/o James Baikie. If this James Baikie had sons in addition to James(bapt. 1746), your Margaret may well have been the d/o one of these men.
