Hi George. It cetrainly was nice to hear from you. Since we last wrote, did
you ever have a chance to
go and see your family in Kirkland. I think that is where you said they lived.
Graeme Wilson was gracious enough to send me the following information on
Alexander Innes:
1) He was Minister of Glenlivet, Banffshire from 1769 to 1819
2) The Genealogical Table of his family was compiled from a copy of a Memo
written on the fly
leaf of his family Bible. and also from the Green Pedigree.
3) He was born on the 24 Feb.1740 in Rothes and his parents were Jonathan
Innes and Margaret
Grant.
4) On the 21 Dec.1780 he married Elizabeth Innes ( a second cousin ) in
Invaravon. The Marriage
Narrative reads that they were the parents of Margaret, Catherine, Helen,
John, Alexander and
Robert. I have found out that there was also a William which I have been
able to confirm with a
copy of a birth certificate.
5) All that is shown for the date of his death is Jun 1819 at the age of 79.
6) Miscellaneaous details:
1916 biography in "Fasti Ecclesiae Scoticanae" vol VI by Hew Scott ---
L 285.2
1998 "Genealogical table of the family of the Rev.Alexander Innes ..."
LMisc1333
7) Newspaper Name ???? COURANT daughter's death. Date: 24 Aug.1871
Page/Col : P8/6.
So that's all that I have for now, so perhaps you might be able to help me
further.
Take care and keep healthy
William from Montreal
