Elizabeth SYMON (b. 1866, Dufftown, d. 1951, Priestwell, Dufftown), was
a daughter of John SYMON (1836-1908), Provost of Dufftown, who lived at
Pittyvaich, Dufftown, and his wife, Isabella DUNCAN (1837-1924).
Elizabeth had one sister, the poet and essayist Mary SYMON (1863-1938).

Elizabeth SYMON married Charles Joseph MACPHERSON (b. 1866, Elgin, d.
1932, Priestwell, Dufftown). Charles Joseph MACPHERSON was a solicitor,
distillery director, town councillor and Provost of Dufftown. They had
children as follows:

1. John Symon MACPHERSON (b. 1897, Dufftown, died Calais, Fance 1918)

2. Charles Fowkes MACPHERSON (b. 1898, Dufftown, d. 1950, Priestwell,
Dufftown). He was a solicitor, and served as Town Clerk of Dufftown,
but was living in Elgin in 1932. He married Joan Flavier[?] WARD. No
further information.

3. Isobel MACPHERSON (b. 1901, Dufftown). A witness at her sister
Patience's wedding. No further info.

4. Patience Mary MACPHERSON (b. 1905, Dufftown). Married Lawrence
Vincent McNABB, in Edinburgh, in 1927. No further info.

I think there may have been more children in this family. Specifically,
Stuart Mitchell (in his book, _Pittyvaich: The History of an Old
Mortlach Farm_) mentions an Alexander MACPHERSON who continued farming
at Pittyvaich until 1940. Does anybody recognize him?
